I am a difficult patient who has had problems with using a CPAP machine. Dr. Shives has worked with me to find a solutions that will work. I always find the front desk staff friendly and ready to help. The sleep technicians were kind and informatively abou th procedures. I always feel comfortable there. I love the real towels in the bathroom. Very green!

On our last appointment, I shared with you experiences on a recent trip to Maui. We snorkeled, biked down a volcano, hiked up mountains, experienced a great wedding of friends. A year or so ago, how would I handle all that physically activity due to weight, joint pain and mental fog? And look good for my wife at the wedding, too – ha! Since my time at Northshore Sleep Medicine, working with you and your sleep center/weight loss program, I have lost 40 pounds – and counting. The mountains in Maui, along with volcanoes and snorkeling were a breeze. The wedding was amazing. What a time!
I thank you for helping me in the journey of my weight loss, sleep apnea and general health. I don’t think twice about physical activity on a vacation now or any other time – I embrace it. I feel better physically and mentally. Looking better is just a bonus. The main reason for all this too, our 16-month-old son. He deserves to have a healthy family.

Dr. Shives has always gone above and beyond to treat both of my children and to address concerns as they have arisen. She has always given us her full attention and we have never felt rushed during our appointments. All of the staff are extremely patient and helpful and have good rapport with patients. The sleep technicians have been wonderful in working with our two young children making the process of addressing their sleep apnea much easier on our family.
We believe that the quality of care provided to our two children with sleep apnea is greater than what we would obtain at other sleep centers and well worth the commute from Oswego to Evanston.
