Insurance Info

Sleep studies, CPAP machines and supplies, and all other procedures performed at Northshore Sleep Medicine are covered by all major insurance companies, including Medicare. Sleep studies, office visits and CPAP services can be subject to your plan’s deductible, coinsurance and/or co-pays. As long as we are in-network (see below) with your insurance company, you will receive the best benefits your plan offers. If you would like more details about prices and your plan’s benefits, call our front desk at 847.674.3600 and we will assist you in breaking down any out-of-pocket expenses you may incur. We also offer payment plans and try to work with patients to accommodate their particular financial situation.

Northshore Sleep Medicine accepts the insurance from the following groups. We are not in network with Medicaid and most HMOs.

  • Aetna
  • Blue Choice PPO
  • BlueCross BlueShield PPO
  • Humana
  • Medicare
(and all secondary and supplemental plans as well as Medicare Advantage and Medicare Replacement plans)
  • United Healthcare
  • Cigna/Great West Healthcare
  • HealthLink
  • Land of Lincoln
  • Multiplan/PHCS

Many insurance policies do not require referrals to see a specialist. Specifically, if you have a PPO plan or if Medicare is your primary insurance, you do not need a referral to visit Northshore Sleep Medicine.

We do think it’s the best medicine to have an initial consultation with a sleep specialist. That said, it is possible to expedite the process if you, or your physician, want the sleep work-up done because of suspected obstructive sleep apnea. This is a viable option only for patients with no other sleep complaints (other than those indicative of sleep apnea) nor any other serious medical conditions.
