This will give useful information to those who struggle with insomnia and especially those who wish to avoid prescription hypnotics and sedatives. We need more research into the effectiveness of these herbal and natural sleep aids, but most can’t hurt you if you buy a reputable brand and if you are not taking other medications. Still, I always advise my patients to take seriously anything they ingest. Please ask your primary care or sleep doctor before you use any over the counter or “natural” sleep aid.
